On Oct. 28 at noon, the 马修·b·里奇韦国际安全球速体育研究中心 in the 公共与国际事务球速体育研究生院 will host the virtual 事件 “The Military in American Politics: The Election and What Comes After.” 此次活动将有一个军民专家小组，讨论军方在政治上中立的声誉在当前的选举周期中如何受到挑战。

“The 美国 military prides itself on being an apolitical institution dedicated to the preservation of national security,” reads a promotion for the 事件. “Its apolitical pretensions are increasingly difficult to maintain, however, as candidates for president court endorsements from veterans, servicemembers are increasingly politically active on social media, and extreme polarization and fears of post-election unrest have journalists and others asking military leaders whether they will play a role in securing the country after Nov. 3.”
